Klarna 'Pay Later' and 'Pay in 3' FAQ's
Who is Klarna?
Klarna is a Swedish payment provider that takes end-to-end responsibility for your payment and is used by more than 100,000 online stores. Millions of consumers worldwide trust Klarna to securely handle their payments.
How does 'Pay Later' work?
Once you have placed your order and it's been confirmed Klarna will send you an email within two days with details of how to pay.
The email will contain a direct link to Klarna where you can make your payment with your credit or debit card at your convenience and at no extra cost.
You will have 30 days to check your order and then pay when you’re happy.
How does 'Pay in 3' work?
When you place your order and choose 'Pay in 3' your order value will be split into three payments. 'Pay in 3' is only available on orders over £35.
The first payment will be taken immediately upon order and the two remaining payments will be automatically taken using the same payment card.
You will receive an email reminder from Klarna before the second and third payments are taken.
Am I eligible for Klarna?
To use Klarna to pay for your order you must be at least 18 years old.
Acceptance is subject to your individual financial circumstances but you can rest assured when choosing Klarna that our assessment of your financial circumstances will not affect your credit rating.
How can I increase my chances of being accepted to use Klarna?
Klarna offers 'Pay Later' and 'Pay in 3' based on a number of factors including the order value and your previous order history.
If you are 18 or over you can improve your chances of being offered 'Pay Later' or 'Pay in 3' by making sure you provide your full name and accurate address details when placing your order and have your order sent to your registered billing address.
All orders are assessed by Klarna individually, if you have used Klarna before does not mean it will be offered for every order. If it is denied it does not mean it will be denied for all future orders.
Will a credit search take place against me?
Klarna may conduct a 'soft' credit search that does not affect credit scoring and is only visible to you and Klarna.
Neither we nor Klarna will conduct a credit search that could impact your credit rating.
Why have I not been offered 'Pay Later' or 'Pay in 3'?
Although Klarna is widely promoted it is not always available.
The option to use Klarna as a payment method is decided by Klarna and is dependent upon a number of factors.
What happens if I cancel my order?
If you cancel your order before it is dispatched Klarna will cancel the statement and refund payment if one has been made
What happens if I don’t pay for my order?
Klarna will alert you two days before the payment is due with an email reminder.
If your payment becomes late Klarna will also send you a text or letter.
If you fail to pay Klarna for your order your credit score will be affected.
What information do I need to provide when I make a purchase?
To make a purchase and use Klarna to pay you need to provide your name, address and email address.
For some orders you may need to provide your mobile number or date of birth, too.
All information will be sent to the email address used, including payment reminders and links to your online statements, so it's extremely important that you give us the correct details otherwise you will not receive the payment information.
Can I pay my bill before the payment due date?
Yes, you can pay for your order at any point after you receive the email from Klarna with the details of your payment on.
Just follow the instructions on the email.
Is my payment information safe?
Yes, your payment information is processed securely by Klarna. No credit or debit card details are transferred to, or held by us. All transactions take place via connections secured with the latest industry standard security protocols.
What happens to my statement if I've returned my order?
Once we confirm that we have received the return an updated statement will be sent to you by Klarna.
If you've made a partial return you will see a new reduced balance and if you made a full return your statement will be closed.
I've received a statement, but I've not yet received my goods.
If your payment due date is near and there is no sign of your order please email info@mylaptray.co.uk to check on your delivery.
You can also contact Klarna’s Customer Service to postpone the due date on your payment.
I have cancelled my order, how long will it take until I receive my refund?
As soon as the store has registered your cancellation or your completed return the refund will be processed within 5 working days.
I have asked for a refund. How will I be refunded?
If you have paid for your order with credit or debit card the refund will be made back to the same card.
If you have not paid the statement yet then the refund will reduce the statement balance, or cancel it completely.
I haven’t received an email with my statement/payment information.
If you do not have your statement number to hand you can log into your account at www.klarna.com/uk where you will find all your orders and will be able to make payments there.
